Description
This is a complete Geography Skills unit for World Geography. This includes world geography notes, activities, and an assessment that are great for helping all learners access grade level content in Geography classes. Students will learn about the parts of a map, what geography is about, the oceans and continents, types of maps, and much more.
Students will label the a world map, label a compass rose, and create their own island using the parts of a map that they learn about!
Printable and digital versions included. Students will learn basic world geography skills with this editable PowerPoint and guided note packet. These have been adapted to better support English language learners and special education students in social studies classes.
The presentation and note packet are engaging and informative for students. Discussion questions are included in the presentation. A completed note packet is also included! These make great lessons for all students learning about World Geography!

Includes a collaborative poster for geography that is great for building classroom community! Students are given an individual page to color, then as a class they will put the pieces together to make the collaborative social studies poster. This is a great activity for the first day of school or throughout the year. The final product will be about 5.5 feet long and 3 feet tall.

Students will practice parts of map vocabulary and skills with this matching activity. This is a quick review of map skills for students to demonstrate knowledge. Students can cut and paste the parts of a map, write the answers in the blank, or complete the activity digitally.
Students will identify and label continents and oceans in this task cards activity. These 18 task cards include images and questions for each of the 7 continents, questions about the 5 oceans, and labeling a compass rose.
