Student Strengths IEP and Involving Students in Their IEP
Middle and high school students must be involved in their IEP process, and in this podcast episode we break down how to do that. Through focusing on student strengths IEP and involving students in their IEP, you will make student IEP meetings more meaningful and create a positive meeting environment.
We give tips for teaching your middle or high school student to advocate for themself and take an active role in their meeting. Student strengths IEP meetings are the way to go- making the IEP centered on the student!
We also give tips on how to write goals for transition and what to include in transition planning. Transition goals must start after the student has graduated high school. For example, you could say that within 4 years of graduating high school, Sam will graduate from a university with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
